The Knicks added some shooting to their roster, by picking up Steve Novak off the waiver wire. Per the NY Daily News: “The Knicks claimed Steve Novak off waivers to give them a 6-foot-10 outside shooting power forward. Novak, released by the Spurs, could see spot minutes since Mike D’Antoni wanted to add a ‘stretch 4′ to help open the court. The Knicks still have their $2.5 million exception to add another player and it not out of the question that they’ll save that for one of several players playing (stuck) in China.”

Running low on time today, i’ll be back tomorrow hopefully with some more news.

The New York Daily News reports that the injury still has not healed all the way.

A Knicks source tells the paper that Stoudemire, who took most of the month of July off in order to rest his back, is 90 percent healthy.

Stoudemire “is scheduled to resume workouts in Florida within the next couple of weeks,” the Daily News reports, but the source wouldn’t guarantee that Stoudemire would be able to take the court if the season starts on time.

The Knicks, of course, really hope the injury heals because Stoudemire’s contract for five years and $100 million isn’t insured due to his previous health problems.
