Knicks PF Stoudemire Will Not Play Overseas

By: SportsDirect

New York Knicks power forward Amar’e Stoudemire is staying in the United States. Days after toying with the idea of playing in Europe during the ongoing NBA lockout, Stoudemire confirmed Sunday on his Twitter account that he will not join a team overseas during the down time. “Europe teams are calling, I think I’m going (to) stay here in the states,” he wrote. “My loyalty is with the State of New York (and) the NYK’s.” Dozens of NBA players have already made plans in case the lockout drags on. Deron Williams has signed a deal with a Turkish club, while a handful of other players are still mulling over a move to Europe. Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen says he will not entertain an opportunity to play overseas, saying his main focus is staying in good shape for when the two sides finally agree on a new collective bargaining agreement.

That’s all the news for today.
